The winstubs

Winstub literally wine room, reproduces to the best Alsatian art de vivre. Originally, this is a room open to the public enabling owners, producers to sell their surplus wine production. Wine is served in pitcher all day long, accompanied by simple meals.

Today,  the winstub is the typish Alsatian restaurant in  local and bistro spirit. It includes the flavors of the past: small dishes such as potato pancakes and liver dumplings, or some richer dishes such as Baeckeoffe  and sauerkraut.
You eat shoulder to shoulder on wooden tables covered with red checkered tablecloths. The winstub is a place where one still takes the time to live.

Meals often linger around a Stammtisch: around a table, the regulars are remaking the world.

For all winstubs it is almost mandatory to reserve a few days in advance.

In addition, the reception capacity is generally limited, it is best to go in small groups.
