Tools for Territorial Intelligence
Two tools for Territorial Intelligence are available online: Laborstat-Huelva and Sistema de Información Territorial.
Laborstat-Huelva
www.c3it.uhu.es/eXplorer/
LABORSTAT-Huelva is a statistical information system about the labour market in the province of Huelva created by the main public administrations in charge of picking up and analyzing this information which are:
• The provincial Office of the Spanish Public Employment Service (SPEE-INEM)
• The provincial Office of the General Treasury of the Social Security (TGSS)
• The provincial Office of the Andalusian Employment Department
• The Local Observatory of Employment of the University of Huelva
This system is a unique experience that promotes sharing the different administrative statistic sources and building together (all the administrations) local labour indicators that combine the data these administrations provide.
It deals with combining sources of information that have different origins and aims; don not share the definitions of some concepts and that are not available with the desired periodicity and disaggregation level. With this work it is possible to have available three-month period homogeneous series that enables to monitor the evolution of the local labour market.
This application has been installed under an education license, using the Open Statistics eXplorer software developed by the ITN/VITA Linköping University (Sweden) and the NCVA - National Centre for Visual Analytics (
http://ncva.itn.liu.se/?l=en). With this platform you can generate applications based on a geographical map file and corresponding indicator data file. It enables to combine graphic representations (choropleths map, scatter plot, bar chart, histogram, and etcetera) and to quickly and clearly visualize all the territorial information thorough the different indicators showed.
Sistema De Información Territorial
www.c3it.uhu.es/atlas/
This application, which is actually being developed for the whole Andalusian territory, is aimed to show the territorial representation and to analyze the evolution of more than 100 socioeconomic indicators for the different municipalities about business development and entrepreneurship in the territory.
This tool is conceived to improve the accessibility and the quality of the information feeding the analysis on which the decision-making processes should be based (market studies, diagnosis and different socioeconomic reports, strategic plans and evaluation of the interventions in the territory, and etcetera). Besides, it intends to contribute to the development of the investigation on socioeconomic and business development dynamics, improving the accessibility of the indicators to the community and enabling a comparative analysis from the territorial and temporal points of view.
