The World Economy Meeting (XI REM) will be held in Huelva (Spain) in 20-22 May 2009 with the theme “Climatic Change and World Economy”, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the creation of the World Economy Society (http://www.sem-wes.org), founded in Huelva in 1999.

An international conference dedicated to the question of how information and communication technology (ICT) can durably contribute to the well-being of all citizens around the world will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 22 and 23 January 2009.

The Seventh Conference of the French chapter of ISKO (ISKO France’2009) will be organized in Lyon on June, 25th and 26th 2009 by the University Jean-Moulin Lyon 3 and the ENSSIB (the National School of Information and Library Science) on the theme “Knowledge Organization and collectively shared knowledge”.

The European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (2008) has aroused great interest in the 27 Member States of the European Union. The sixth international conference of territorial intelligence Besançon 2008 gathered 230 participants with more than twenty nationalities, in Europe and beyond.

The plenary sessions were broadcasted in video on the conference blog that received more than 600 visits from many countries during the three days. The workshops reports and the speakers' slide shows are available on the blog. The debates can continue there thanks to the comments.

Since 1993 the Theo Quant Meetings take place every two years in Besançon (France). They are intended to welcome all researchers interested in the analysis of structures and dynamics of geographical space.

The ninth Theo Quant Meetings will take place in Besançon from March 2009, the 4th to the 6th.

Thursday, May 29th the press conference Observation Group of Leon, (GOL) took place in the Acts Room of the Caja España. This observatory, that was created in 2006 with TheMA-IT accompaniment (Besançon, France), is an experience included in the caENTI workpackage 6 works.

María José Asensio Coto, Doctor in Economics and Business sciences has just been nominated General Director in charge of Climatic Change and Urban Environment by the Junta de Andalucía. She has got a vast experience as professor and member of the Observatorio Local de Empleo (Local Observatory of Employment) of the University of Huelva where she worked in close relation with the caENTI project, and more precisely with the workpackage 6.

The Faculty of Scienze della Formazione of Salerno University and the caENTI project organise an International Conference entitled “Comparison among European Educational Systems” on May, 15th and 16th 2008. This conference objective is to compare the educational systems of some EU countries with the fact that institutionalized educational processes strongly affect the children’s mental development.
