New version of the Territorial Intelligence portal
Since October 2007, the portal of Territorial Intelligence has evolved towards a new version.
Kicked-off in March 2006 in accompaniment of the Coordination Action of the European Network of Territorial Intelligence (caENTI), the portal progressively enriched of a range of contents and tools to better present the Territorial Intelligence news.
The shown objective: becoming a reference media on the notion of Territorial Intelligence, the knowledge, the methods, governance and the tools for action. Guided tour.
From the network to the portal
Territorial intelligence elicits many research action and observation and intervention actions in various contexts. The Coordination Action of the European Network of Territorial Intelligence (caENTI) started, on March, the 1st 2006, the first website devoted to this notion. Since October 2007, the website has a new development and has become the official portal devoted to the Territorial Intelligence notion.
At the service of Territorial Intelligence
This editorial space daily enriches, to organize the informational watch on Territorial Intelligence:
- Projects and research actions news
- Scientific events inscribed in this thematic
- Publications and formations linked to it
- Tools, methods and links that are interesting for territories.
The portal ambition is to become a reference media on the Territorial Intelligence notion, the knowledge, the methods, governance and the tools for action. To reach this contract, we though again the portal and reorganised it according to 7 headings:
- What’s new?: This heading presents the Territorial Intelligence news in an editorialised and prioritised way. It is possible to find there the latest editorial, feature articles as well as news and information about the projects and conferences in progress.
- Projects: This heading will make an inventory of the projects about Territorial Intelligence. There is a detailed description of the CAENTI, with its objectives, activities and participants, but also the documents and events that re linked to this project.
- Ongoing research: The heading presents the state of the research activity on the notion, the methodologies and the first results.
- Scientific events: Here, it is possible to find the news about conferences and seminars. Their presentation, the calls for communication, the minutes…
- Publications: This heading corresponds to a documentary basis. All the documents available on the portal are referenced and categorised there.
- Formations: This heading allows making an inventory and presenting the formations (as academic as professional) about Territorial Intelligence.
- Tools and links: This heading puts at the disposal the tools that come from the research action. The CAENTI will especially publish a methodological and technical toolkit that includes the Catalyse tools. As far as the links directory is concerned, it allows enriching the network.
For an easier browsing, all the information are interconnected. This new architecture allows choosing the heading to enter, whilst guaranteeing not to miss essential information.
Two new functionalities are also available:
- A very competitive internal search engine
- And the possibility, not to miss anything, to take out a subscription to the Territorial Intelligence Portal RSS feed (What is RSS format?)
A vast scientific content
The internal partners of the European network contribute to this enrichment through the research activities in progress, the results of the led works, what from now on makes available a vast scientific content:
- The acts of the International Conference of Territorial Intelligence of Alba Iulia,
- The caENTI first scientific reports.
Files are presently being progressed; the documentary basis is enriching of documents and links day after day… The portal of Territorial Intelligence will work in full mode from the beginning of the year 2008.
