In the frame of CAENTI Wp4m activity and SISTEMaPARC projects Žiga Kokalj and Tomaž Podobnikar (IAPS ZRC SAZU) studied Triglav national park (Slovenia). Their analyse of the land use dynamics was based on analogue maps, aerial photographs, and digital datasets since the end of 18th century until present.

Historical maps are one of the most important data sources for spatial analyses of the historical environment. The study tried to get clearer understanding of technical and semantic aspects of historical maps together with interpreted GIS-based land use datasets.
