Tools for Territorial Intelligence

All tools developed for the study of the territories

> Catalyse Toolkit

To make tools that are accessible and useful for actors, Catalyse adapts fundamental methods and generic tools of wide-applicability.

They are methods of statistical and spatial analysis of data, management and evaluation protocols, knowledge bases, systems of scientific and technical edition, geographical information systems that use the information and communication technologies.

The harmonization of the European Catalyse observatories is made in the caENTI framework.

Catalyse especially uses the friendly software that are designed for the researchers in humanities and in social sciences and that were made by the TheMA research team in Territorial Intelligence.

> Assessing action-research quality

This tool is a template for the evaluation of the quality of participative processes in the framework of Action-Research projects.

The caENTI letter of quality of action-research favouring territorial governance of sustainable development by the caENTI Workpackage 5 and presented during the second annual international conference of territorial intelligence held in Huelva (24-27 October 2007), suggested that the key factor for the quality evaluation of an action-research process of is the quality of the participative process between researchers and actors.

> Journal of Territorial Intelligence

The Journal of Territorial Intelligence includes articles of its field as it emerges from the current caENTI meetings. It is especially linked to the sciences of territories, dynamic analysis of space, methods and tools for territorial observation, the governance of territories, sustainable development and all the phenomena of information and communication constituent of the reality of an intelligent territory.

> Web mapping for territorial indicators

Geographical information systems (GIS) are becoming a common tool in applications that involve spatial data. In the last years the internet technology is moving GIS towards web based applications, simplifying the interaction between users and GIS, and at the same time reducing the ownership and maintenance costs.

In the framework of caENTI (Coordination Action of the European Network of Territorial Intelligence) we are developing a web mapping solution to present selected socio-economic indicators of European Union in the form of interactive map.
