VALDOCCO within the European Programme Poverty III
Since the 1990s, VALDOCCO participates to partnership actions linked to poverty and social exclusion. Within the European programme Poverty III, it participates with the University of Huelva, more precisely with the Local Observatory of Employment to territorial actions.
On this basis, a cooperation action was initiated on the training, research-action, strategies development and propositions linked to territorial development issues. After this partnership is initiated, VALDOCCO had the opportunity to work with the University of Besançon and with other European actors with which it initiated the European Network of Territorial Intelligence.
After having participated to territorial actions during more than 20 years, VALDOCCO participates to the Sixth Framework-Programme for Research Actions as an actor, on the part regarding coordination and practices transfer.
Tools and Methodologies
With the Local Observatory of Employment of Huelva, VALDOCCO developped tools and action methodologies: development of socio-professional insertion itineraries for underprivileged groups, master of socio-professional insertion (2 editions), Follow-up and Evaluation Instrument (GEYSA), diagnosis of the district V of Huelva and integral plan of the District V of Huelva (2000-2008). These experiments were evaluated as good practices within different frameworks.
In each of these experiments, a research-action was developed, because the social transformation and the assistance to people and territories facing difficulties by social inclusion and participation are in the centre of the VALDOCCO concerns.
VALDOCCO work with the caENTI (Coordination Action of the European Network of Territorial Intelligence)
Within the caENTI, VALDOCCO brings its experience and takes advantage of the research-action on the putting in common of the partnership work, the participative methodology, the creation of democratization and participation spaces that lead to new kinds of governance.
The territorial action as a direct actor linked to action allows VALDOCCO developing new strategies materialized in new technologies thanks to the enrichment of the research spaces and analysis that it can bring to the academic field, and especially the research one.
The participation to caENTI allows VALDOCCO making new learning and gives it the opportunity to implement new tools, reasoning and action orientations with the support and the deepness that the dynamic innovation of a rich and multi-disciplinary group provides.
