Governance of territories and of their sustainable development, genuinely present thematics
From Octobre, the 15th to Octobre, the 17th, the sixth international annual conference of Territorial Intelligence will take place in the university of Franche-Comté, within the framework of the European coordination action caENTI, on the theme "Tools and methods of Territorial Intelligence".
This event will conclude a collective work that started in March 2006, which was supported by the 6th FPRTD and led by European teams (Belgium, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovenia) and a Taiwanese university.
This research activity concerns genuinely present thematics, the ones of governance of territories and of their sustainable development, whilst they are facing major economic, social, cultural and political challenges.
Speaking about territories governance implies to evoke societies that should deal with problems of any nature, and the choices and practices they make to tackle, understand and solve these problems.
The Coordination Action of the European Network of Territorial Intelligence (caENTI) set the goal for itself to give methodological tools to the territorial communities to list, characterise, quantify people facing major social problems and weakened by their ethnic-cultural, economic ans social status and inadequate or insufficient administrative structures.
The caENTI involves social actors in charge of the accompaniment of high-risk people in their fight towards professional and social, or even political, integration or reintegration.
The step is original insofar as it gathers ground organisations and scientific teams on situations analyse and expertise and on the drafting of practical protocols to help decision-making.
It is also original because it created a collective intellectual where the territorial actors appropriate the analyse tools drafted by the scientists.
The caENTI allowed experimenting this innovating and efficient partnership. It now aims at widening its geographic basis by aggregating new teams and by exploring workings in countries that are not represented in the consortium yet (Maghreb, Africa, South America, India...).
It is the direction we give to the project we are presently preparing and we will submit within the 7th FPRTD. The "Maison des sciences de l'homme et de l'environnement Ledoux" (Institute of Humanities, social and environmental sciences) will accompany this ambition and will offer its logistical and intellectual support, as it did with the caENTI project.
