caENTI Quality Letter of Action-Research favouring Territorial Governance of Sustainable Development (D47)

By Blanca MIEDES-UGARTE (WP5 Leader, Huelva University - UHU) | December 2007 | caENTI deliverable 47

The caENTI WP5 main general objective consists in deliberating on ethical and methodological principles that should be respected by research protocols of social and human sciences, so that the results of research favor territorial governance and therefore the sustainable development of territories.

WP5’s main task for this phase of the project has been joint reflection on the main aspects that have influenced improvement of the quality of action-research processes, so that its processes and results favor, to the largest extent, the objectives of sustainable development by promoting territorial governance.

The conclusions of the analysis of the participants’ experiences in territorial action-research projects, which was carried out in the previous stage and gathered together in deliverable 40 of caENTI: Analysis of the Application of the Governance Principles of Sustainable Development to Territorial Action-Research, have been taken as the starting point for this reflection.

The proposal of Quality Letter was complemented with an e-tool for assessing the quality letter of a particular project. The objective of this tool is to be filled in by the participant of the action-research group in an auto-assessment process. It is available for visitors on the Territorial Intelligence Portal.
