The MSH participates in the Incentive Joint Action "Spaces and Territories", which national director is member of the MSH. The project “Spatial dynamics of the population and natural resources: towards an integrated long-term analysis, from the Prehistory to the Middle Ages” studies spatial interactions between human groups, the resources they exploit to insure their subsistence, and their environment. The action "the territorial dynamics of the industrialization" studies the forms of industry territorial organisation within the broad European industrialization period, in a comparative way. MSH and ZRCSAZU are associated to the Integrated Action program that works on the use of the resources with high spatial-time resolution for the spatial archaeology modelling.
MSH teams are involved in numerous European programs of action, as Equal partnerships of development, to realize territorial diagnoses, to estimate actions or to develop observatories.
