The structure
The Institute of Anthropological and Spatial Studies leads research in two rather distinct areas. First one is the use and the development of geographical information systems (GIS) and satellite imagery in various natural sciences and humanities. We have made several test studies on the use of GIS and satellite images in different sciences, from archaeology to biology ands linguistics... Our second research area is anthropology, with a special interest for Papua New Guinea, Mesoamerica and Slovenia.
