Valdocco subjects of interest

Valdocco Foundation has developed a methodology to answer people needs (young and teenagers in a first step). Some of its aspects are individualization, global, multidimensional and process approach, promoting economic integration, practical training in organizations, agreement searching between the Foundation and businesses and partnership cooperation. Its goal is to achieve social and occupational integration of disadvantaged groups, preventing social exclusion.

Social participation is one of Valdocco's keys which are also committed with the city and the territory. Several public administrations, social agents, citizen movement, social initiatives and various public and private institutions participate in the Foundation projects. Since 2000, Valdocco and the University of Huelva coordinate the “District V Integral Plan” (Plan Integral del Distrito V) working with 70 institutions to elaborate a diagnosis, design, implementation and animation of the Plan in a disadvantaged area of the city (http://www.distrito5huelva.org).

Valdocco is also focused on Social and Occupational Integration programs, generating a structure to implement a broad type of projects: hosting and counseling, training (crafts school workshop), Occupational Professional Training, practical training, granted training in business, employment intermediation, job-finding techniques, self-employment orientation and support, employment specific centre, social and occupational integration organizations, residential installations for young people integration.

In addition to this, Valdocco and the Regional Ministry of Social Affairs have developed some European Initiatives (Integra and Equal) since 2000 and the “Solidarity with Andalusians” (Programa de Solidaridad con los Andaluces) for the period 1991-1996.
